Grandma's Homemade Roses.....

I decided to get out and about around the yard and take a few pics of the few flowers that I have right now. Some are before the storms, some are today.  These beautiful roses that my Grandma Couch started from a cutting. Grandma is long gone, but her roses still live.

She would take a cutting, put into the ground and cover it with a quart mason jar.  I believe she did this in the spring. She would not remove the jar for a year.  So the next spring, she would have a small rose bush.

She started several for me. Both are pink, but this is the one blooming now.  The other is darker pink. My "honey" calls them cemetery roses. The one that is not blooming yet is a Seven Sisters.

I also have these yellow lillies next to my blue glass gazing ball.

And these gorgeous red geraniums. Even tho' it's red I have it.  Being a orange blooded Oklahoma State fan, we don't do red very well, but I could not resist the bright blue pot it is in.

There has been a pretty little painted bunting stopping by.  And I least not forget the humming birds and American Gold finches!  I have been see a mountain blue bird that I hope to get pics of soon.

Thank you Lord the beauty you put into our lives!

My Week at Church

This week I filled in at our church for Doris
while she took some well deserved time off.

This is our church. I have been
a member here since 1968.

In 1973 I got married here.
In the mid 70's my daughters started here.
My grandson has joined this church.

Both girls married in this wonderful little church.
I think this is the best church in the world and I love the people, most of them anyway. But I am really going to miss our pastor who is moving away and taking her two beautiful kids and a husband who works the hardest I have ever seen a pastors spouse work. It brings tears to my eyes to think that there are some  people in this little church who have not given her the chance because she is a woman. Her husband sings in the choir, leads the choir when the director is away, teaches Sunday School. It seems we have had 2 for 1.

I know that we are all going to find out just how good we 've had it. And now it's gone.

Our Trip to Muskogee......

Last Sunday we hit the road to Muskogee, Oklahoma U.S.A. to see the sights. We haven't been in awhile, so we thought it would be a fun trip to test out the ole RV. We found a nice spot at Lake Tenkiller.
On Monday, we went to Honor Heights in Muskogee to look at the azaleas.
We were about a week and a half  late,
                                         but the azaleas were beautiful.

The peonies weren't bad either.

Afterwards we went back to Lake Tenkiller and my "honey" built a fire. We had a great time. Can't wait to go out again!

How are you welcoming in the Spring?

Love,
Omah
